Chapter 8 Apples or Indians
The domesticated plants for them during this time period would be wheat, corn, rice, barley, soybean, potatos, and so on (G.G.S pg 132). They had about 200,000 species of plants they used to help them survive. But only a dozen account for 80 percent of the worlds production. I wonder how they would have survived if plants did not exist. What other resources would they have to rely on to survive? The kind of climate determined on what was growing in their area. They had meditterranean climate (G.G.S pg 133). They had many fertile cresent advantages. For example they had a high percentage of annual plants. The annuals produce seeds that dry down, until there is a rainy season (G.G.S pg 136).
